ASBIS Enhances ODD Product Offer Thanks to Distribution Deal with Pioneer

ASBIS has struck a deal with Pioneer Europe NV providing for the distribution of the whole range of Pioneer optical disc drives (ODDs) throughout the countries of ASBIS’ presence across Central and Eastern Europe, including Russia and Ukraine, and Africa.

Limassol, Cyprus - November 28, 2005 – ASBISc Enterprises Ltd. (ASBIS), a leading supplier of computer components to the EMEA emerging markets, has struck a deal with Pioneer Europe NV providing for the distribution of the whole range of Pioneer optical disc drives (ODDs) throughout the countries of ASBIS’ presence across Central and Eastern Europe, including Russia and Ukraine, and Africa.

Under the terms of the agreement, ASBIS is now authorized to distribute all Pioneer ODDs including DVD-R/RW writers, with an emphasis on middle and high-end range models.

Laurent Journoud, ASBIS’ Executive VP Sales & Marketing, commented, «Optical disc drives are critical components for a wide range of computer devices. Pioneer is a leading global enterprise in the DVD industry and is best-in-class for innovative technology being one of just two manufacturers to offer slot-loading models. Thanks to the new agreement with Pioneer we will be able to enhance our lineup of state-of-the-art ODD products based on latest technologies. We will also be able to respond faster and more efficiently to the changing requirements of our customers.»

The new partnership will promote the distribution and sales of Pioneer products throughout the countries of ASBIS’ presence via distribution centers located in the Czech Republic and Finland. ASBIS will enable systems builders and resellers to obtain Pioneer products locally through ASBIS offices.

«We’re delighted that ASBIS will distribute Pioneer’s optical disc drives. Eastern Europe in particular is a thriving market and ASBIS’ excellent relationships with local systems developers and through the channel in its key regions will help grow our business throughout Eastern Europe and Africa where sales of DVD writers remain buoyant,» observed Mark Littlechild, European Sales Manager, Pioneer Europe, Multimedia Division.
