Here’s the wrap-up of AMD’s announcements at CES 2022

CES 2022: The Next Wave of AMD Innovation

AMD is introducing the AMD Ryzen™ 7 5800X3D, the world’s fastest desktop gaming processor.3 The first processor to feature 3D-stacked L3 cache via AMD 3D V-Cache™ Technology, the 5800X3D enables an average of 15% better 1080p gaming performance than the Ryzen™ 9 5900X .

This leap in performance is thanks to cutting-edge 3D stacking technology, 8 cores, and boost clocks of up to 4.5GHz, as well as an unmatched 96MB of L3 cache for wildly fast memory accesses. 5 It’s a gaming desktop processor with the raw performance to dominate the latest titles with a suite of technology innovations that establish it as the go-to processor for gamers.

Those looking to upgrade will appreciate the Ryzen™ 7 5800X3D processor’s drop-in-ready functionality for the AM4 platform on AMD 400 and 500 Series chipsets. Partners and customers can expect general availability for the AMD Ryzen™ 75800X3D processor in the spring of this year.

It’s a pleasure to finally announce that the next-generation AMD Ryzen™ Desktop processor will be based on “Zen 4” and AMD Socket AM5 technologies, with availability expected in the second half of 2022.

The next-gen Ryzen™ processor with “Zen 4” transitions to a 1718-pin LGA socket backward compatible with current Socket AM4 coolers. The new AMD Socket AM5 platform also offers PCIe® Gen 5 and DDR5 support, so gamers looking ahead to what’s next can look to AMD “Zen 4” as a major upgrade.

The AMD Radeon™ RX 6500 XT graphics card delivers outstanding performance, stunning visuals, and advanced software features to players targeting immersive 1080p gaming experiences.

Joining the wider Radeon™ 6000 Series, this new product will deliver seamless high-definition experiences, supported by AMD technologies including AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution and the features found in AMD Radeon™ Adrenalin Software.

The teams at AMD have been hard at work designing, engineering, and developing this range of exciting new products and software, and AMD is looking forward to seeing how partners and customers respond as they roll out throughout the course of 2022.
